Alan Hickman is Managing Director of Quotec. He has over twenty years experience of technology strategy development and implementation, much of which was gained at the UK government Department of Trade and Industry working on innovation policy and technology support programmes for industry has been involved in the development of processes to support innovation, knowledge and technology transfer. His work has focused on knowledge and technology transfer and sharing of best practice amongst publicly supported networks. He possesses extensive experience in programme/project development and evaluation especially in materials and for small companies. He spent some time working on EU industrial support programmes on behalf of UK government.
Norman Waterman is a Director of Quotec. He founded Quotec is 1984 and over the last 20 years has advised a wide range of private and public sector clients on the identification, development and exploitation of new and improved technologies. He has wide ranging experience of knowledge and technology transfer projects that bridge the private and public sectors and a deep understanding of the behaviours and processes utilised by innovative technology organisations and the barriers to innovation.
Andrew Davidson is a Quotec Senior Consultant. He is a professional chemist with over thirty years of experience of managing and evaluating knowledge and technology transfer projects in industry and the public sector. His particular area of expertise is technology exploitation and the development of research ideas into commercial products and processes. Andrew has experience in developing project selection criteria and portfolio techniques for technology programmes.
Tony Horn is a Senior Projects Leader at Quotec. He is currently the National Programme manager for the Health Technology Devices Programme and MHRA Safety Drug Studies Programme. In previous roles he has directed R&D programmes for pharmacogenetics, medical devices and products aiding independent living in the home. He has participated in several scientific committees focused on healthcare technologies and recently served on a EU Commission for R&D Infrastructure projects in Estonia. Tony has over 25 years experience in managing programmes that develop and evaluate new healthcare technologies for the NHS.
Matthew Chapman is a Senior Projects Leader at Quotec. He is an engineer with over ten years experience of managing multi-stakeholder programmes to develop innovative products, primarily in medical technologies. His particular expertise lies in the management, monitoring and evaluation of science and technology programmes which have also due diligence of research proposals, and assisting with the commercial exploitation of research outcomes.
Roger Davidson is a Senior Consultant of Quotec. He is a charted physicist and professional materials technologist with over thirty years of experience working first at Harwell and then as a founder Director of Crompton Technology Group, an award winning composites company he established through an MBI in 2000. His particular area of expertise is in advanced composite materials development, turning research into qualified high value manufactured products for a range of industrial sectors. He has worked closely with both public and private sectors as well as with universities.
