Alan Hickman

Alan is the Managing Director of Quotec. He has over twenty five years experience of technology strategy development and implementation, much of which was gained at the UK government Department of Trade and Industry.  Alan has developed  innovation policy and technology support programmes for industry and technology and knowledge transfer programmes to support science base - industry interactions.  He possesses extensive experience in programme/project development and evaluation especially in materials/engineering and has worked with more than 200 companies. He spent 10 years working on EU industrial support programmes on behalf of UK government.

Andrew Davidson

Andrew is a professional chemist and Quotec Senior Consultant with over thirty years of experience of managing and evaluating knowledge and technology transfer projects in industry and the public sector. His particular area of expertise is technology exploitation and the development of research ideas into commercial products and processes. Andrew has experience in developing project selection criteria and portfolio techniques for technology programmes.

Richard Cumming

Richard Cumming, PhD is a Senior Consultant who has extensive expertise in Life Science, ranging from post-doctoral research in the UK and North America to global marketing within GE Healthcare. He set-up a global marketing team for a multi-million dollar business within Amersham International focused on proteomics and genomics products. He aggressively built and managed product portfolios through technology scouting, in-house development and tactical & strategic partnerships. He also established the first formal strategic planning process for Amersham Life Science and managed organisational change in global marketing and product management teams. Since 2007 he has worked with start-up and early stage companies, as well as providing specialist consultancy support including: due diligence, market assessment, technology evaluation, mentoring, interim management and investment readiness programmes (technology and creative). 

Mitesh Ladwa

Mitesh Ladwa is a Quotec Senior Consultant specialising in support for organisations applying for research and development funding from the European Commission. Mitesh has successfully established €40M of funding supporting industrial organisations and academia by writing, reviewing and editing proposals, recruiting partners into projects, negotiating and preparing budgets, performing contract negotiation, and preparing consortium agreements. He has worked on a wide range of projects and performed analysis of the economic and social impact of each concept as well as leading concept generation workshops. He has successfully managed complex projects and been the Principal Investigator of an EU FP6 project. In addition, Mitesh has been working at the interface of business and science which has allowed him not only to develop a good understanding of the day to day operations of companies but also to keep abreast with developments in the healthcare, ICT and materials field. Mitesh obtained his PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from King's College, University of Aberdeen.
